You asked about Ida's inherted English disease:
She has Pseudo Myxoma Peritonea that attacks the organs and the stomach wall. It is like cancer but does not move through the blood or the lymphnodes and is 90 percent cureable, if it is treated correctly. There are three Doctors in the U.S. that have experience with this disease but will not treat Ida because they will not accept her Medical Insurance. The three Doctors that have the experience with this disease is Dr. Richard Estape MD, Gynocological Oncologist, Dr. Troy Gatcliff MD, Gyncological Oncologist here in Miami and Dr. Sugarbaker in Washington DC.
The most succesful way to treat this disease is through Intraperatineal chemo, (through a port in the stomach wall) but the Doctors , 2, that have have treated Ida have gone through a port in a vain in the chest which stops the lesions from growing but does not eliminate it. These Doctors are afraid to treat using the intrapertineal chemo because they are afraid that she can get a bacterial infection that could be fatal.
We are still hopeful that Gatcliff and Estape will change there minds about the Insurance and go ahead since they have experience with the Intrapertineal chemo technique.
This disease is very common in England and the treatment is very succesful.
You mentioned that we might beable to have Ida trated in Ecuador, do you think it migt be possible?
